GE GDT650SYVFS: Top Control Dishwasher in Fingerprint Resistant Stainless Steel

The GE GDT650SYVFS is a 24-inch-class built-in dishwasher with a fingerprint-resistant stainless exterior, stainless steel interior, hidden top controls and a 47 dBA sound rating. It offers space for 16 place settings, a full third rack and targeted bottle jets.

Features

• Dry Boost: Normal and High drying settings help improve drying, including on harder-to-dry items. Added drying and temperature options extend total cycle time.
• Full third rack: A removable third rack provides a separate place for utensils and smaller items, leaving more room below.
• Adjustable loading: The upper rack is height adjustable and removable. Nylon-coated racks and a silverware basket with three cell covers help organize the load.
• Four bottle jets: Dedicated jets direct water inside tall, dishwasher-safe bottles and similar narrow items when the Bottle Jets option is selected.
• Five wash cycles: AutoSense, Heavy Wash, Normal Wash, 1 Hour Wash and Rinse cover different loads. The one-hour claim refers to washing time and excludes drying and added options.
• Steam and sanitizing: Steam adds a prewash for dried-on soils. The Sani setting modifies the final rinse to meet the manufacturer’s NSF 184 sanitization requirements when the cycle completes successfully.
• Wash zones and scheduling: Choose upper- or lower-rack washing, delay the start from 1 to 12 hours, and lock the controls. A countdown display and door status light help show progress.
• Food handling and water-level protection: The Piranha hard food disposer and removable filter handle food particles; Active Flood Protect monitors water level and can activate draining if an overfill is detected.

Installation and Planning

The complete installation manual calls for an opening at least 24 inches wide and deep and approximately 34 1/2 inches high. Its drawing shows a 33 3/4- to 34 3/4-inch height range, including a 33 3/4-inch minimum for models with a leak pan. Confirm the supplied unit and finished-floor height rather than using the appliance’s retracted height as the cabinet requirement. Leave at least 2 inches at a corner and 25 1/2 inches in front for door opening. Follow the manual for hot-water supply, electrical grounding, drain routing, leveling and mounting.
