GE JS645ELES: Slide-In Electric Cooking in Slate
The GE JS645ELES pairs a 5.3 cu. ft. conventional oven with a smooth black ceramic-glass cooktop. Its slide-in design, front controls and Fingerprint Resistant Slate finish create a streamlined cooking area with a full-width storage drawer below the oven.
Cooking Features
- Two flexible Power Boil elements: Both front elements adjust between 9-inch and 6-inch cooking zones and are rated at 3,100 watts.
- Four radiant elements: Two 6-inch, 1,200-watt rear elements complete the smooth cooktop for everyday meals.
- Dual-element bake: Upper and lower oven elements support conventional baking in the 5.3 cu. ft. oven.
- Self-cleaning oven: A high-temperature cycle helps remove baked-on oven soil. Follow the owner's manual for preparation and cleaning.
- Front controls: Knobs and electronic touch controls include a digital temperature display, clock and kitchen timer.
- Useful oven settings: Hi/Low Broil, Delay Bake, an audible preheat signal and control lock capability.
- Storage and visibility: A removable full-width drawer stores cookware, while the large oven window and interior light help you check food.
- Cooktop indicators: Heating-element and hot-surface lights show when the surface is operating or remains hot.

Installation Planning
Have a qualified installer confirm the cabinet opening, counter height, outlet location, delivery path and door-opening space against the actual range and its serial-appropriate instructions. Finished side panels provide installation flexibility, but fit depends on the full installation requirements.
The range requires a grounded individual electrical supply and an approved range cord or conduit connection. Install and engage the anti-tip bracket. The manufacturer requires at least 30 inches above the cooking surface to an unprotected wood or metal cabinet; reduced clearance applies only with the protection specified in the installation guide. Follow the complete guide and applicable hood or microwave instructions.
