Installation and Care

Place the freezer on a level floor capable of supporting the loaded appliance. Keep ventilation space around the cabinet: the owner's manual specifies 4 inches at each side, behind and above the unit. Allow additional space for the lids to open fully, keep the plug accessible and position the freezer away from heat sources.

Use a grounded three-prong outlet and the electrical supply specified on the appliance rating plate. Whirlpool specifies a 60 Hz AC, 15- or 20-amp fused supply and recommends a separate circuit. Do not use an adapter or extension cord. Follow the manual's draining and manual-defrost instructions.
