About this model

The SimpliFire 35-inch Electric Fireplace Insert updates an existing wood-burning fireplace or fits a new framed opening with its self-trimming design. Electric flames, logs and glowing embers bring a traditional fireplace look, while the remote controls lighting, thermostat and power.

Enjoy the display with or without supplemental heat. The standard front is included; an optional Mission front and model-specific small or large surrounds provide additional finishing choices.

Standard features

Electric flame display with realistic log-and-grate appearance and glowing embers, plus adjustable supplemental heat that can be switched off independently.

Included standard front, multifunction remote, two AAA batteries, leveling brackets, construction hardware and hardwire junction block. Remote controls thermostat, lighting and power.

Self-trimming installation can finish a framed opening without an added surround. An existing fireplace installation can use a separately selected surround to cover gaps.

Required components

A suitable dry existing fireplace or correctly framed opening, electrical supply and installation materials are required. Electrical work and finishing are separately provided.

Measure the front and rear width, height and depth of an existing fireplace. New-construction framing dimensions differ from minimum existing-opening dimensions; use the correct manual table.

Select a matching surround if the installation leaves a gap; this is a separately ordered component when needed.

Optional features and accessories

Mission Door Front FT-MISSION-35 replaces the included standard front.

Small surround SF-SI4229-INS35 and large surround SF-SI4432-INS35 are optional. Each can be used four-sided or with its bottom panel removed for a three-sided installation.

Small: 42 in wide, 29 in high three-sided or 31 in high four-sided. Large: 44 in wide, 32 in high three-sided or 35 in high four-sided.

Technical notes

Indoor supplemental electric heat only; no combustion vent is required. Keep furniture, draperies and other combustibles at least 3 ft from the front, and follow the manual for clearances and service access.

Prepare an existing fireplace so moisture, debris and cold drafts cannot reach the insert. Provide electrical access as directed by the manual. The appliance is not watertight.

Viewing dimensions listed are for the standard front. The optional Mission front changes the visible opening slightly; use the manual’s front-dimension table if this matters to your design.
