Comfort foam sits above a coil support system, combining contouring cushioning with a more responsive foundation. Many hybrids use individually wrapped coils.

Consider it if you want foam comfort with some of the buoyancy of springs.

Where do pillow tops and Euro tops fit?

These describe extra cushioning at the surface, rather than a separate support system. A pillow top has a distinct cushion sewn above the mattress; a Euro top is sewn flush with its edges. Either can sit above coils. Firmness still depends on the full mattress design.
