Monessen Attribute 32 Vent-Free Firebox

Clean-face circulating firebox with an angled interior and air channels designed to move warmth from a separately installed log heater into the room. Curtain mesh screens retract into concealed side pockets.

Gas-line access points and a junction box support the separately planned gas and electrical connections.

The BD or GD model includes brown or gray reversible fiber refractory panels: turn the panel to choose stacked or herringbone brick. Includes the required hood and adjustable firebox supports.

Select a compatible listed vent-free gas log heater, matching burner, fuel type and controls separately. The heater must fit the firebox's minimum internal dimensions and remain within its 40,000 BTU/hr limit. This enclosure alone does not produce heat.

A regulated gas supply, site-appropriate framing, finishing materials, combustion/ventilation air and professional installation are required. Logs and burner must follow their own installation instructions as well as the firebox manual.

Install the supplied hood or canopies as directed. Plan electrical supply before closing the wall when using lights, a fan or electrically powered controls. Installation, materials, gas work, finishing, delivery, accessories and tax are separate.

Optional GFK-160VF fan and MONAL-VF accent light kit. The light kit operates on 120 VAC, 60 Hz and may illuminate the firebox with or without the gas flame.

For approved vent-free gas log heaters only; never burn wood or other solid fuel. The system is supplemental heat or decorative use, not a primary heating system.

Location, room air supply, fuel choice and local permission for vent-free use must be checked by the installer. Maintain unobstructed combustion and ventilation openings and follow both the heater and firebox manuals.

Keep furniture and other flammable objects at least 36 in from the front. Mantel height depends on projection; follow the manual's diagrams. Carpet and vinyl have special hearth requirements and must not be assumed safe next to a flush opening.
