Stony Creek includes nine refractory logs and two ember chunks arranged for a layered wood-fire appearance. This 18-inch refractory cement model is designed for a separately selected Natural Blaze gas burner.

Standard features

SC18-R 18-inch nominal log set in Refractory cement. Stony Creek includes nine refractory logs and two ember chunks arranged for a layered wood-fire appearance.

Designed for the matching Natural Blaze burner, which creates yellow flames and a glowing ember bed. Burner, ignition and fuel are required selections, not automatically included in the log-only SKU.

With a selected millivolt burner: burner/grate, switch and harness, approved ember materials, flex-line fittings and anchors are supplied with the burner package. An IPI burner adds electronic intermittent-pilot ignition and the included RC300 remote.

Required components

Select the listed NB18-B burner for SC18-R, in natural gas or propane and millivolt or IPI ignition. Logs and burner are separate packages and must both be specified in the quote.

An approved existing fireplace or listed vent-free firebox, adequate room combustion air, a correctly sized gas supply and qualified installation are required. Verify fireplace construction and all mantel, side-wall, hearth and overhead clearances.

For vented use, provide the manual's permanent damper opening and damper clamp; do not use thermostat operation. Four AA batteries are needed for battery-powered IPI operation.

Optional features and accessories

Millivolt options: RCB battery remote, TSST touchscreen thermostat remote, TS temperature sensor, RRCM insulated receiver cover and the fuel-specific HILOKTN or HILOKTPLP variable-flame kit. Thermostat options are limited to approved vent-free use.

IPI option: ACCK-IPIP 6 V DC transformer; RC300 remote is included with the selected IPI burner rather than an added remote charge.

VR1000A volcanic rock is an optional approved media accessory. A fireplace enclosure, trim, doors, mantel and finishing materials are separate installation items, not parts of the log set.

Technical notes

Technical values below apply to the current NB18-B burner with this log size, using the August 2026 manufacturer manual. Older burner revisions and several website tables differ; use the manual shipped with the supplied appliance.

Minimum opening dimensions are a screening check, not a complete installation plan. A front barrier up to 3 inches high increases required depth to 16.5 inches. A barrier higher than 3 inches is not recommended. Mantel projections and clearances require the manual's installation diagrams.

Vent-free operation uses room air and is subject to local restrictions; this is supplemental heat. Do not install in a bedroom or bathroom. If fireplace glass doors are present, operate only with the doors fully open. Do not burn wood or other solid fuel in the log burner.

Logs must remain in their prescribed positions. Keep media clear of ports and pilot as directed. Only the gas indicated on the rating plate is permitted; fuel conversion is not allowed.
